Timothy J. Mahoney, III is the founder and president of both Mahoney Realty Group, Inc. and Mariner Commercial Properties, Inc. Mr. Mahoney entered the commercial real estate industry in 1984 as the fifth employee of the newly established Philadelphia office of Oliver Realty, Inc. where he quickly rose to the position of Vice President (1985-1987) with direct responsibility for the leasing and marketing of the suburban Philadelphia development portfolios of Prudential Realty Group, a subsidiary of the Prudential Insurance Company of America and TIAA-CREF. In late 1987, following Oliver Realty’s acquisition by Grubb & Ellis Company, Mr. Mahoney joined The Binswanger Company to open up their first suburban Philadelphia office and becoming the youngest Vice President (1987-1991) in that company’s long history; and thereafter Vice President of Commercial Brokerage Services for SenecaRoach Commercial Property Services (1991-1994).
During his 30+ year career, Mr. Mahoney has represented building owner interests for several million square feet of office space in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and closed lease and sale transactions valued at over $1 billion. He has directed the acquisition and development of various mixed-use projects and has authored substantial build-to-suit and joint venture deals for class A office space. Mr. Mahoney and his company have worked with virtually every variety and type of client ranging from the pharmaceutical industry, law, healthcare, banking, and financial services, to name a few.
Mr. Mahoney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Villanova University. He is a Charter Member of the Tri-State Commercial and Industrial Realtors Association; a Charter Member of the Suburban West Realtors Association; a former director of the Central Philadelphia Development Corp. (CPDC), and a member of the Philadelphia District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Mr. Mahoney is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
